Medicine Creek Ranch

The most unique ranch of Heartland Pride Outfitters is the Medicine Creek Ranch. Located due north seven miles and west two miles of Cambridge, Nebraska sits Harry Strunk Reservoir or Medicine Creek State Wildlife Area encompassing some 8,500 acres worth state park land. Within the park lies the most serene reservoir in the entire state of Nebraska occupying 1,850 surface acres with 29 miles of shoreline and rated by many visitors as one of Nebraska’s most scenic recreational spots. The dam holding the reservoir in was completed in 1949 to store irrigation water for some 16,630 acres of land. What makes this so unique to Heartland Pride Outfitters is that we are affiliated with Medicine Creek Lodge, LLC which is the only business concessionaire for Medicine Creek SWA where they accommodate all of the parks hunters, fisherman, campers, and all other outdoors enthusiasts year-round at their facilities and restaurant . At the Medicine Creek Lodge, Heartland Pride Outfitters accommodates our hunters with lodging and meals for higher numbers of hunters and corporate groups hunting only the private land with Heartland Pride Outfitters. Hunting public land for a fee is an unlawful act within Nebraska borders and is not practiced by Heartland Pride Outfitters. HPO leases all privately owned land which lies anywhere from a few short minutes away, to a thirty minute drive from Medicine Creek SWA, we are just in cooperation to use the facilities of the lodge. Your stay will be in the rustic cabins within the state park next to the Medicine Creek Lodge or across the lake at the water’s edge. You will be dining within the Lodge Restaurant on nothing but homemade meals during your stay as well. Gas, permits, snacks and beverages, alcohol, ice, hunting/fishing supplies, bait and tackle, are all readily available within the lodge too. Our private land acres at this ranch contain many of the same features that our Turkey Creek and Red Cloud Ranch contain. Some of the features again are croplands bordering timbered river frontage, open prairie creek bottoms also bordering some of Nebraska many crop fields, and rolling, choppy hilled rangeland where once again you can see for miles with nothing in view but prime hunting property. Other land features contain wooded creek bottoms next to agricultural fields and many more acres of prime CRP grasses. We are capable of pursuing whitetail and mule deer (with appropriate draw-only tags for mule deer only), hybrid turkey, predators, and upland birds consisting of pheasants, quail, dove, and chukar. Heartland Pride Outfitters can accommodate eight hunters who purchase and book hunts at this ranch for any hunt period.
